Katanning is centrally located within the Great Southern region. This means you can book your accommodation, or park up your caravan, and visit many of the region’s tourist sites. Katanning itself provides visitors with plenty to see and do. Call into the Lost Katanning office on the Old Railway Station at 69 Austral Terrace and pick up pamphlets to help you find your way.

Katanning is the regional centre of the Central Great Southern of Western Australia providing services to a number of smaller satellite towns. Primarily agricultural with mixed farming, the region contributes significantly to the state’s economy.

Katanning Tours now has two tours available:

  1. Historic CBD Walking Tour
  2. Kobeelya House Tour

ESCORTED WALKING TOUR

Escorted tours of the Historic CBD are available with a local historian.
He can also accompany you on a self-drive tour of the town.

Fitness level – Easy

Katanning’s CBD abounds with heritage buildings and sites of interest for visitors. These include historic buildings and churches as well as parks and a bronze statue to the town’s founder Frederick Henry Piesse.

Children 15 & Under – No Fee

KOBEELYA HOUSE

Tours

45 to 60 minutes duration
Fitness level – Mostly easy with a set of stairs in main house

Tour the historic Kobeelya House, The Coach House Museum and and estate surrounds.

Adults – $15.00
Pensioners – $10.00
Children 15 & Under – No Fee

Includes free bottle of water at the start and
free coffee at the end of the tour for paying guests.
